Diffuse large B-cell lymphomas
Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is one of the most common and aggressive types of lymphoma found in adults, making up 30-40% of all cases of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL).
It is called this because it originates in the B-cells (the tumor cells are oversized lymphocytes).
DLBCL is a fast-growing and aggressive type of lymphoma (high rate of cell proliferation), and the tumors tend to increase in size in a matter of days or weeks.
DLBCL appears most frequently in men over 70, and although it can develop at any age, it is true that the incidence of cases increases with age and in the presence of immune disorders.
