Often, surgery to remove the node is the first treatment. After the operation, you will be recommended another type of treatment (depending on the type of tumor you have) to prevent it from coming back. Some treatments that are usually recommended are: radiotherapy, hormone therapy, chemotherapy, and the so-called targeted therapies with trastuzumab (Herceptin®).
